We built a research hub and public engagement platform for Black Humanities in the Midwest, a Mellon Foundation funded Africana Studies research center at Indiana University.
The site brings three research labs, two IU campuses, and a growing roster of scholars together under one digital home.
Connect Media Agency built a WordPress and Elementor site for Black Humanities in the Midwest (BHIM), a systemwide Africana Studies initiative jointly led by the Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies at IU Bloomington and the Center for Africana Studies and Culture at IU Indianapolis.
The site needed to hold a lot: three research labs, ongoing events, postdoctoral scholars, workshops, community partners, and archival projects, all funded through a five year Mellon Foundation grant. It needed to read as a serious research institution, not a department microsite.
